Do you love the outdoors?

I'm looking for someone to join my film crew and be part of my next project.

What am I looking for exactly?

I'm looking for someone who’s flexible, who loves the outdoors and wants to spend more time out there.

If this sounds like something you might be interested in here are some of the details.

  • You’ll be in front of the camera and help tell the story that we create through video and film. At times you’ll also share the role of operating the camera and audio equipment.
  • At times the projects will be small and filmed in a day, others will be shot over a couple days and some will be longer. You can plan for at least one extended trip per year.
  • Depending on the project, you may be filming one-on-one with Jason Eke, or you may be a part of a small team of four to six people.
  • While filming you will be expected to carry your own weight, we’ll look out for you and we hope we can count on you to do the same.
  • If you’re selected to join us all expenses will be paid for your inclusion, including travel, food and accommodation (usually a tent, but sometimes we luck out and have a night or two at a lodge before or after heading out). You’ll be briefed on the projects and included in the planning and scripting process.

This is a trial opportunity. As the small business grows I'm looking for the right person to fit in and who might accompany me on future film and video projects. You don’t need to be an “expert”, but if you’re someone who loves the outdoors, enjoys adventure, and would like to share those experiences with the world, then I’d love to hear from you.

Who am I looking for?

What I'm really looking for is someone with a bit of experience who is easy to get along with and up for a challenge. I put together a list of ideal characteristics:

  • Physically fit and able to carry a 50 to 60 lb backpack
  • Some photography or film experience
  • Basic first aid knowledge or training
  • Ability to tolerate extreme weather, biting insects and sleeping in the outdoors
  • Experience in the outdoors, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, climbing and camping
  • A resident of Ontario
  • Able to travel out of province and out of country
  • You should also have experience in, and feel comfortable with some basic skills like how to paddle, how to read a map, how to use a compass, how to set up a tent, how to start a camp fire.

Why Apply?

Well, that’s up to you. I want you to make the decision whether this is right for you or not. I want you to be happy and feel comfortable being a part of a unique group.

If you’re the type of person who’s reading this and already thinking this sounds like a great opportunity and a lot of fun...

Here’s what you do.

Send me an introductory letter to introduce yourself (just use my Contact Page, that’s easiest).

Tell me about any experience you have that you think may be useful.

Tell me why you are the right person to travel with me through a wilderness area.

Tell me how you can help with creating a great film.

Do you have a facebook, instagram or twitter account? I’d like to know about those too.

I may ask you questions, a lot of questions. So be prepared for that. I want to make sure I bring the right person, after all, we are travelling into a wilderness location and once we’re there we aren’t leaving until the work is done.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
