This year I discovered a great new, simple recipe for the flat bread called Chapati.
I was planning the years long trip – a ten day canoe trip from the Tim River to Canoe Lake in Algonquin Park. There were going to be 4 of us going and in addition to organizing the route, I was also in charge of the menu.
We had a good variety of food to bring, but I wanted to have some sort of quick bread that we could eat either as a stand alone snack or as a side dish with some of our meals.
What I discovered was Chapati.
Chapati is a flatbread from the Indian subcontinent and popular staple in India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Its super easy to make and requires only four ingredients: All-Purpose Flour, Whole-Wheat Flour, Salt and Water.
1 – Cup All-Purpose Flour
1- Cup Whole-Wheat Flour
1- Teaspoon Salt
3/4 Cup of Flour
Here’s a short video we made while out on our trip.
