How to Tie the Constrictor Knot

In this knot tutorial Jason demonstrates how to tie the Constrictor Knot.

Learning to tie knots has always been an important part of camping skills and the Constrictor Knot has been a knot taught in programs like the Boy Scouts (now known as Scouts) for generations.

This is an easy all purpose knot that’s easy to tie. It’s a good binding knot that’s often used to start lashing knot or to bind several pieces of wood together.

This is a great alternative to the Clove Hitch and will provide a more secure knot. The Constrictor Knot is a knot that should be taught as a camping knot and also a Scouts Knot because its an ideal knot for bushcraft, wilderness skills or wilderness survival.

Despite being a stronger, more stable knot than the Clove Hitch, I don’t believe it replaces the Clove Hitch but simply offers another great knot for camping. I highly recommend you also check out how to tie the Clove Hitch Knot.
